Integrated Auto Injury Recovery

Integrated Therapy Program

The Integrated Auto Injury Recovery program provides therapy to relieve pain and support optimal healing following injury in an automobile accident. It incorporates chiropractic, laser and nutritional healthcare into a potent individualized integrated therapy program.

We do not accept tort cases and a new patient must have Med Pay with a sufficient coverage for all the providers on your case. Referral to other medical and legal providers are made if indicated.

This program is provided primarily to support our patients who find themselves injured in a car wreck. New patients that have not previously sought our care are accepted with certain provisions. We prefer patients who are seeking integrated, natural approaches to their health.

About the Integrated Auto Injury Recovery Program

Our goal at Dr. Akers Natural Health Clinic is to optimize your recovery while minimizing long-term problems that can happen as a result of untreated or incomplete healing. Our comprehensive approach provides evaluation and treatment of the whole body. We identify and address both major and minor injuries that may have been overlooked, but still need to be treated. When a major impact occurs many injuries occur simultaneously both large and small. Untreated damaged tissue may heal in such a way as to cause long term chronic pain. Prompt care makes a difference.

Those aches and pains you are experiencing after your car accident are an indication that the body area involved has suffered damage. Auto accident injury victims may be unaware of ”hidden injuries” because at times pain-relief and anti-inflammatory medications may be masking the pain. When an injury occurs, not only is tissue damaged, but also the injured area loses its integration with the rest of the body. Our whole body treatment approach helps restore the integrity of your system so you recover as much function as possible. With our comprehensive diagnostic work up, we will be able to identify your underlying injuries and create a custom treatment plan to support your body’s natural healing process.

Your custom plan may consist of chiropractic adjustments, laser Therapy, therapeutic massage and other modalities that aid in your body’s recovery. Whole body treatment helps restore the integrity of your system.  Untreated and/or poorly treated cases of auto injuries can result in life-long problems and suffering.

Thank you for choosing Dr. Akers and his staff to provide care for you to recover from the injuries you received from your automobile accident. On behalf of the entire team, we are pleased to be of service during this difficult and challenging time for you and family.

How do I know if I should seek treatment?

Pain after a car accident is a good indication of an injury. If there’s any chance that severe or life threatening injuries are involved, you should first go to an emergency room to rule those out. Even if you’re experiencing no pain, it’s still a good idea to seek evaluation. Many car accident injuries don’t cause pain or discomfort until weeks or months later. If you have symptoms you should seek care sooner rather than later. Waiting to see if you get better can worsen your condition. Additionally even short delays in starting care raises flags in insurance company computers that make it harder to get reimbursed. The best rule of thumb to keep your health and your finances protected is to play it safe and get checked out as soon as possible following your car accident.

What will my initial appointment consist of?

Your initial appointment will start by documenting everything needed to help us understand your condition properly. This is important to help you access your insurance benefits and develop the basis for a legal case if trial is needed. After completing your paperwork, the clinical assistant will run a few diagnostic tests. From there we will perform a through head to toe structural examination and provided an initial pain relief treatment. We will then establish a plan for further treatment, order x-rays/MRI, and prescribe at home care instructions.

Why is it important to keep on my treatment schedule?

It is important that you are compliant with your schedule of treatment for your optimal recovery and continued insurance coverage. Gaps in treatment signal your insurance company that you are not serious about actively seeking care and gives them an excuse to discontinue your coverage.

How much does it cost?

Cost varies depending on the procedures provided. You will receive statements during the course of your care so you can monitor charges billed to your insurance company. We do not accept Tort cases. you must have MedPay benefits likely to cover your expenses. MedPay claims by law cannot be used to increase your premiums.

How will I feel after the treatment session?

Most people feel a sense of relief even if their pain levels remain high from the injury. In the course of being treated by a doctor of chiropractic for spinal derangement or subluxations, certain reactions may be experienced by the patient receiving the chiropractic adjustment. The most common reaction to spinal manipulation are aching or soreness in the spinal joints or muscles as the tissues are being remodeled. If aching or soreness occurs, it is usually within the first few hours post-treatment and does not last longer than 24 hours after the chiropractic adjustment. An ice pack often reduces the symptoms of this chiropractic technique more quickly.

Are there any medical conditions that would make treatment inadvisable?

Yes. That’s why it’s imperative that, before you begin your session, you have completed all paperwork. It is very important that you inform us of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor’s care, for a life threatening illness, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for treatment prior to your session. Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.
